Firstly, the name originates from the ending of the word Deuteronomy, which is the 5th book of the Old Testament. One of the key themes in Deuteronomy is that we should honour God with our lives.
Secondly the name Onomy is a play on words. When said aloud, Onomy sounds the same as ‘honour me’. This reiterates what God is saying in the book of Deuteronomy.
‘nomy’ originates from the Greek word ‘nomos’, meaning law or principle. The ‘o’ is simply the linking letter.
‘I will honour those who honour me’ is the verse that is often seen along with our logo. It is found in the first book of Samuel in chapter 2, verse 30
