Groups

In Onomy groups, children aged 5 - 14 experience an adventurous and meaningful time together. Divided into appropriately aged groups, the children are led by teams of dedicated, volunteer leaders. Onomy groups are found as a part of evangelical-based churches and the leaders are from that particular church.

Onomy groups provide the opportunity to do, learn and experience something that is 'different' from the norm. Children are challenged and grow in friendships, confidence, skills, faith and know-how. We are proud to say that costs are kept to an absolute minimum to enable every child the opportunity of enjoying the afternoons.

We at Onomy suggest the groups meet fortnightly on Saturday afternoons, making the most of free-time and daylight hours. Activities such as adventures in nature, singing and music, games and sport, handicrafts and projects, skills and know-how and experiencing Bible stories make it a rich and eventful time.

A typical Onomy afternoon generally starts with some great songs, news and welcome etc... before hearing a Bible story or Christian input and then venturing out for the afternoon activity. Sometimes the group may spend the whole afternoon outside and have the story when out and about. Onomy groups go out in just about all weathers, and so the children always come prepared to spend time outside.
